IDPR Avalanche Awareness and Companion Rescue

January 26 @ 6:00 pm - January 27 @ 5:00 pm

Free

This is part two of two presentations in our avalanche safety education programs. Attendance to our awareness presentation is required to attend the companion rescue clinic field training.

Since avalanches are the number one cause of snowmobile fatalities in the west, the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is presenting a free Snowmobile based Avalanche Awareness course near you. These practical and popular classes familiarize the winter backcountry enthusiast with hazard recognition and techniques for safe travel in avalanche terrain.

The indoor portion of this class is at Mile High Powersports south of McCall. The field portion is at the West Face parking lot between Little Ski Hill and Brundage.
