Observations

Explosive avalanche mitigation produced numerous avalanches along the entire ridge of Hidden Valley from the Nozzles to Terminator full elevation of the slopes to the run out in the rock garden. Debris was additionally observed from naturally released avalanches likely overnight. Average depth 15cm with pockets of deeper releases. Additional mitigation on the E side of "the ridge" produced several soft slab avalanches that ran approx. 250m long and 200m wide start zone . Start zone and track borders 20-30cm deep. Wind deposited snow on E facing slopes. Several natural avalanches were observed beyond the patrolled boundary on W aspects and under rock bands looking toward Sargent's peak. Additional natural releases expected with increased solar radiation on 3/16 especially near rocks and on south to west facing terrain.
