We observed wind scoured South/West ridge lines, and very large cornices off the ridges towards the North/Northeast. We skied multiple laps on 25-30 degree East aspects and the skiing was excellent. We knew the persistent layer existed before entering the terrain and decided to ski conservatively away from cornices, potential wind slabs, and steeper slopes.
Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Dug pit mid-way into the snow pack at 7450 ft on an East aspect. Observed persistent weak layer 75cm deep that propagated during a CT test @ CT11 Q2.
