Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

6-8 inches of new snow on a variety of surfaces above 6000'. Test slopes were unreactive. Some, but minimal, sloughing of loose dry snow in steeper terrain, particularly on southern aspects where snow was not bonding to sun crust below storm snow. Above 7000' near the ridgeline, the winds picked up and there was evidence of wind slabs forming from snow during most recent storm/snowfall.
