Small slab kicked of on a steep rock rollover,
15' wide, 6-7" deep and ran a whole 10' , harmless at this scale but is indicative of a red flag.
Tiny, <<0.5 in size
Did you observe any avalanches?
Size 1: Relatively harmless to people
Photo is a likely natural on a roadcut on the Goose Creek road. Other option it was sympathetic to grooming.
Signs of Unstable Snow
I am traveling as per considerable hazard protocols and staying out of avalanche terrain.
Observed Avalanche Problem #1:
Based on what I saw today, the new snow is sensitive. Of particular note is that I was not able to consistently isolate columns in the new snow from the last couple of days. Columns were mostly failing prior to or upon isolation at a depth range of 12-18" on the lighter snow from a few days ago. Where I was able to isolate they failed with a very east tap or push.
