Comments:
We were able to easily trigger avalanches in the new snow on protected steep ESE, and North aspects of Sgts Mtn, North of Brundage Mountain Resort Saturday afternoon.
2 distinct layers of buried surface hoar visible. Stay safe out there and off of sustained, exposed, steep terrain where recent surface Hoar is reactive to the weight of just a skier.
Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes, Isolated
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Isolated
The wind was blowing the light snow and loading leeward slopes...we stayed off of steep slopes
