Did you observe any avalanches?
Yes
Avalanche Type:
Soft Slab
Size:
Size 2: Could bury, injure, or kill a person
Elevation:
7600
Aspect:

Comments:
North side of Brundage Mountain (aka Sargents) slid naturally during the storm cycle - 12 inches deep x 100 wide. Rapid wind loading was observed at the ridge tops.
Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes, Widespread
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Widespread
Two observed avalanche problems:
1) Wind slab at and near tree line on north and cross loaded slopes. Widespread natural activity observed that was large enough to bury a person.
2) Below tree line on all aspects and within the new snow, there was a layer that was very reactive to ski cuts and prone to sympathetic releases. Generally, small isolated pockets that were not large enough to bury a person.
