Dug a pit just below the ridge of Sargent's above the center of the main bowl. The slope was SW facing with a 20-degree slope angle. Our main findings are that the middle of the snowpack is getting stronger, however, the basal facets are still present. While it is a low probability of triggering the deep persistent slap, it is an extremely high consequence if triggered. Our compression test had a sudden planar result at the top of the basal facets at 15 taps. When we tried to replicate our results we had no fracture.
