Bottom Line

We found stable snow below treeline. Newly formed wind slabs in the alpine had us traveling as per moderate protocol (e.g. ski cutting rollovers and skiing one at a time). Looking at tracks from the last couple of days, today's wind may be increasing the hazard.

25' wide, 40 degree slope, ran only 40 or so vertical feet. Minor but may be indicative of others. More like D0.5. None

Minor ski cut. worth noting that a few hand pits in the area produced easy shears on newly formed wind slabs. Only in exposed areas. We skied similar unloaded aspects at this slope angle and elevation with only minor sluffing. Wind was actively blowing snow in exposed locations. Old skin tracks were filled in in places.
