Comments:
A couple Solar induced avalanches within the upper foot in am. Locally sunny but snowing lightly around us all day
Did you see shooting cracks?
Yes, Isolated
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Isolated
The Avalanche propagated and then ran very soft and loose. The slope angle was around 40 degrees we were traveling cautiously on the edges of 35-40 degree slopes and got a couple tiny slabs to fail in the upper foot. We had dug mit pits and a formal pit and got moderate results with ect propagation in the upper foot so we downgraded our goals for the day with the test results and the red flags. At the parking lot others skiers told us they triggered a large spooky skiff skiing into Hum Lake.
