Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Skied east/ne couloirs on beaverdam, dropping in around 10 am with fairly warm temps. approx 45- 50 degrees, windloaded with wind slab but well consolidated. large cornices overhead - did cut a small cornice prior to skiing line(s), no signs of instability seen, as we expected. full probe unable to reach ground but obvious spatial variation, small hand pit demonstrated general obs for the area. overall very stout , consolidated snow with good stability.
