PAC Toured Granite's East aspect from Goose Lake on Monday...Great snow conditions for riding and skiing. Stable results showing strong lower snowpack. Loose snow runs on steep slopes...ski cut on steep, East rollover at about 7,300 FT produced a nice sluff of loose dry powder.
We skied a 35 degree East slope and did not see any instabilities, but we did clip some rocks that were barely hidden beneath the surface up on the Shoulder of Granite's East Face.
Ski penetration= 20cm or 8 inches
Boot Penetration= 45cm or 18 inches
