Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

4" new snow at 6900' N facing. Medium to high density snow bonded well to the old snow surface. A couple inches of old snow on the ground is damp, not faceted. At least where I looked closely at the snow just off the road at Lick Creek summit. About 12-14" total snow depth. Calm, almost no wind and fairly warm, overcast. Rain turned to snow about 5600' and was able to drive to 6200' and walked up the road from there on skis
