Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack:

Toured a lot of area today mainly north of Goose Lake and around the Hazard Lakes.  Upper elevations had moderate variable direction winds,  primarily southwesterly.  We witnessed active wind transport of old soft snow. Significant drifting on ridges.  Also saw freshly formed surface hoar from last night's cold temperature.  This surface hoar was widespread and seemed to disappear as the sun was bright and there was a breeze.   I did see surface hoar later in the day primarily on sheltered north aspects.  We saw no signs of instability today.   I will keep that fresh surface hoar in the back of my mind when this new snow comes tomorrow.   Most surface hoar I found was approximately  1-2 cm in depth.
