Snowpit Observations
More detailed information about the snowpack: 

185cm height of snow at 7600 feet protected North aspect.  Found buried 12/10 layer of buried surface hoar at 138 cm.  Deep tap test CTH x2  Resistant Planer

115 cm height of snow at 7500 feet protected East aspect.  Could not fiind 12/10 layer of SH. 

West aspect, no total snow height.  Could not find 12/10 SH in the top 90 cm

Avalanche problems:

Wind slabs not reactive on North - East - West, no natural wind slab avalanches observed

Persistent slab 12/10 surface hoar had sudden results where we could find it less than about 80 cm.   

Overall snowpack in this area is very dense. 

Weather Observations
More detailed information about the weather: 

Calm and clear for the last 4 days.  SH growth on shady aspects. Larger in the lower elevations.  Coved by light snow afternoon 1/15.
