Heather and I have been skiing different lines on different aspects 6800-8500' near Profile gap for the past week. Snowmobile travel is good to the summit with no avalanche debris on the road. We have been watching the buried rain crust layers carefully and are pleased to see the more basal snowpack gaining strength. The new years crust is still somewhat reactive in compression tests but seems to be gaining strength with incremental loading.
The skiing is as good as it gets right now!
